The survey finds that Americans prefer to keep Medicare just the way it is. Most also oppose cuts in Medicaid and the defense budget. More than half say they are against small, across-the-board tax increases combined with modest reductions in Medicare and Social Security benefits. Mike Huckabee on The Daily Show
I haven't posted anything in a couple days, life has been hectic and crazy, but good. I was watching these interviews this afternoon and thought I'd throw them up here. Huckabee is a bit of a puzzle to me. When I see him in settings like this, he is very thoughtful, intelligent, and well spoken. However, another side of him emerges, as Stewart points out, when he speaks to his base.
This is a great conversation about many of the issues that I feel really do threaten democracy in America these days.
